JAZZ: Also know as Theater Jazz, is the ability to isolate various parts of the body through floor and barre exercises. This is a fun and lively class for all dancers. This dance class is conducted with a wide selection of music styles.

TAP: Tap dancing is made up of rhythmical sounds produced by movements of the feet. The two most important elements are the ability to articulate from the ankle, and the clarity and separation of tap sounds. There are no “standard” body, feet, or arm positions, but the body placement stems from ballet training.

VOICE: learn the physical & musical aspects of the singing technique. Concentrating on how to produce a pure tone keeping the larynx down, epiglottis open, back engage and chest out. Breath control is enhanced through a series of warm up exercises insuring vocal longevity. Weekly ˝ hour private lessons are available by appointment.

TINY TOTS: This is a program designed to introduce the child to dance, creative movement, learning right from left, balance, coordination and basic body placement are stressed. This class is 45 minutes with the goal of increasing to a one-hour class by the end of the dance year.

PRE-SCHOOL 31/2 – 41/2: This is a basic beginner program with an introduction to ballet, tap and acrobatics. This class works on fine motor skills, and music appreciation.

PRIMARY I 5-6: This class develops the basics for tap and instills a strong foundation, which is essential for all future dance training.

PRIMARY II 5 1/2 – 6 ˝: A continuation of primary I with more advanced ballet and tap training. This gives the young dancer a good foundation and prepares them to take a full one hour class in the dance form of their choice the following year.

ACROBATICS: Acrobatics emphasizes body agility through floor exercise tumbling. This form aids in increasing body strength and flexibility, and should be coupled with ballet for maximum acrobatic advancement. Safety is insured through the use of mats and professional spotting.

HIP HOP: The latest and upbeat style of dance. Classes conducted to contemporary hip-hop music, teaching dancers the movements of today’s street style.

POINTE': A continuation of ballet, started when the foot is fully developed and a certain level of expertise has been achieved. This form of dance is performed up on full pointe' with special shoes designed specifically for this purpose (toe shoes). This class is only taken by dancers with extensive ballet training and appropriate age. Dancers can only be invited into pointe' class by teacher recommendation.

BALLET: We teach our classes with a high regard for tradition, making sure our students understand proper body placement with the use of technique and terminology. Classes are commonly conducted with classical music. As students progress, we recommend multiple classes weekly to achieve higher goals.

LYRICAL: This dance style is very closely related to ballet and jazz. Lyrical dance is a free moving style in which the dancers movement depicts the story of the lyrics. Two ballet classes are required in conjunction with this class.

MODERN: A dance form in which a dancer must look totally off balance with total control. Integrating various styles of dance. Drawing basically from ethnic dance forms. A requirement of one ballet class a week is a must.

P.O.W.E.R.SIZE: is a class incorporating stretch and strength and cardio moves to efficiently work out the total body. We’ve taken moves from Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, Swing, Yoga, Pilates, and put them together to form a well organized workout. The moves are simple to follow, so no dance experience is required. If you miss a step or two, just keep moving. Friendly and helpful instructors teach the class in a welcoming and non-competitive setting. You will feel great, have more energy and endurance, your flexibility and strength will increase, reducing stress and promoting a feeling of total well being.
